You won’t always see these for sale in your local garden center.  But all the better!  Native plants are best adapted to your area- will support abundant wildlife, can thrive with minimal intervention from people and often have a fascinating history.  For that reason, I highlight plants that are native or native-ish (defined as probably found in my Zone 5b New England prior to European settlement).
